ground vibration (gv) is a blasting consequence and important for the mining and civil projects. ground vibration level is adjusted by different parameters including rock type, charge per delay and distance from the blast. gv predictor models are mainly developed considering these parameters. however, mostly presence of the water as an influential factor has been neglected. in this paper, an attempt has been made to modify usbm model by incorporating the effect of water. the developed model was implemented for predicting peak particle velocity (ppv) of blasting operation of the chadormalu iron mine, iran. it was concluded that as compared to the most renowned models (i.e., usbm, ambraseys hendron, langefors- kihlstrom and indian standard institute) the proposed model is more precise in predicting ppv. in this regard, determination coefficient (r2) and root mean square error (rmse) between predicted and actual ppvs were calculated 0.7521 and 5.1370, respectively, showing superiority of the proposed model.
