     in projects that require deep excavation, support systems should be used to maintain the stability of the soils. choosing an appropriate type of support system is important. in this study, we employ the most common type of support system, that is, a diaphragm wall with anchors made from steel. variations in the fixed length, dimensions of the diaphragm wall and anchors are important parameters to obtain differences in factor of safety and displacement of soil layers. the purpose of this study is to locate the optimal length and dimension of anchors in deep excavation by using plaxis 2d. the results show that geological conditions, particularly a high groundwater level and the depth of excavation significantly affect the optimal fixed length, factor of safety.
