     this paper presents measurement results from a plasma monopole antenna, made from a simple florescent tube in an aluminum box, and compare them with those obtained by the cst microwave studio. a commercial fluorescent tube with 0.5 m length and 0.008 m diameter was used as an antenna element. the tube was energized by an electronic ballast. an sma port was inserted into one of the box’s walls at the antenna port. the electron density of the plasma tube was assumed to be nonuniform and was calculated by comsol multiphysics software and then exported into cst.
