    in this paper, synthesis of core shell structured nio2@mcm-41 nanoparticles with vesicles as soft template is reported for the first time. stable vesicles first formed at the concentration of 0.03 (mol·l-1) with ctab/sdbs ratio of 1:2. then, vesicle aqueous solution with a metal core was added in the mcm-41 gel, stirred to a highly dispersed solution. after high-temperature calcination, nio2@mcm-41 nanoparticles were obtained. the structure was characterized by transmission electron microscope (tem) and n2 adsorption/desorption analysis to measure surface area, pore size and volume. tem image confirmed core-shell structure and the hexagonally ordered structure of shell of silica mcm-41. the result indicated that the average diameter of synthesized core-shell nio2@mcm-41 particles is 50-80 nm and most of them are in spherical shape. the result of n2 isotherm adsorption/desorption analysis indicated successfull formation of mesoporous shell.
