    in this paper, energy and exergy analysis of chp power plant of zavareh isfahan are performed for different values of design parameters. for this purpose, the first law and second law of thermodynamics are used for all equipment of power plant to derive equations. the resulting coupled equations are solved using ees software. for specific values of design parameters, the results are compared with data of the power plant. the comparison shows good agreement between the obtained results and data of the power plant. the effects of several parameters such as inlet gas turbine temperature, duct burner fuel mass flow rate, and pressure ratio of compressor on the exergy efficiency, exergy destruction, and consumption of fuel are investigated graphically. it can be found that the exergy efficiency of power plant is increasing function of inlet gas turbine temperature and the exergy efficiency of hrsg is decreasing function of inlet gas turbine temperature. the consumption of fuel decreases with the increase in pressure ratio of compressor for both combined and separated cycle power plants.
