the analysis of death metaphors based on nematollah salehi hajiabadi’s book “man from death to limbo”

some experiments are both private and vulnerable to be considered regardless of linguistic protections. one of them has surely been death, a never-ending taboo in which psychological, religious and public forbiddance are inseparable. the purpose of this study is to prospect and analyze the metaphoric expression of death in the persian book of “man from death to limbo” by nematollah salehi hajiabadi and his metaphoric replication in peoples’ ideas and thoughts. by scrutinizing the aforementioned book, a corpus of 88 death terms were investigated for the analysis. two teachers whose major field of was religious sciences, analyzed accurately the book to evaluate the conception of death metaphors. to validate the assessors’ suggestions, a purposive sample of 36 master students of religious sciences were interviewed for interpreting the deliberated connotations. results demonstrated that death metaphor has been used with different conceptualizations and represented both positive and negative connotations.
