three-component synthesis of 4-amino-2-aryl-2h-pyrimido-[[1,2-b][1,3]benzothiazole-3-carbonitriles using metal-organic framework mil-53(fe) as catalyst

a simple and convenient approach was suggested for the synthesis of 4-amino-2-aryl-2h-pyrimido-[[1,2b][1,3] benzothiazole-3-carbonitriles through a one-pot three-component reaction of 2-aminobenzothiazole, aldehydes, and malononitrile in the presence of metal organic frameworks. the products were obtained in excellent yields and short reactions times using mil-53(fe) as catalyst. the prepared nanocatalyst maintained its unique framework after the reaction and could be recycled and reused several times without significant loss of activity. the catalyst was characterized by ft-ir, sem and edx analysis.
