• effect of two- phase system parameters on the air bubble size in column flotation

     column flotation cells are allocated the most attention to optimize affecting parameters in the flotation. one important parameter of flotation systems is air bubble because of its significant role in the transfer of particles to the froth phase. bubble behaviour includes the size, shape, rise velocity and path in the flotation has been considered by many researchers. in this paper bubble size because of its importance in flotation has been studied by the image analysis method in tow-phase system. parameters such as sparger type, frother type, amount of frother, aeration rate and tailing rate were consider as main factors. sjst (sintered glass sparging technology), pst (porous spargers technology), fs (filter sparger) and rs (rubber sparger) have been used as sparger. also mibc (methyl isobutyl carbinol), dowfroth250, aerofroth88 and pine oil have been used as frother. sparger type has indicated the most effect (66.5%) on the bubble size which is produced in the column flotation. amount of frother, tailing rate and frother type are considered as second, third and fourth effective parameters respectively. the best condition achieved by reducing the bubble size is: sjst as sparger, dowfroth250 as frother, maximum amount of frother, tailing rate of 1.5 l/min and aeration rate of 4 l/min.
