    a generalized mobile automaton for simulating particle deposition on a wall: effect of movement rules and wall shape

    in this paper, a generalized cellular automaton model is developed to simulate particle movement and deposition on wall. the particles are also able to detach from the wall and start moving again. these cases can represent many materials behavior such as adsorption and ion deposition. by finding the proper model parameters, the number of the residing particles on the wall is measured.

    the particles’ movement is governed by movement rules which can affect the particles’ deposition. also, the wall shape can modify the number of the residing particles at the equilibrium state. the effect of each movement rule and their differences are investigated and it is shown that by choosing the proper movement rule the wall shape effect can be minimized. also, the wall shape effect is decreased when the tube radius is increased. this model can serve as a base for simulating complex phenomena in flow simulation, air and water systems or any other system where sorption or binding of particles take place on a liquid or solid phase
