factors affecting the attitude of rural youth towards employment in the agricultural sector: a case study of babol county

this study aims to investigate the factors affecting the attitude of rural youth towards employment in the agricultural sector: a case study of babol county. a combination of quantitative and descriptiveinferential methods was adopted as the research methodology. the statistical population of this study was the 55200 rural youth, 15 to 29 years old. using cochran formula, 271 individuals were determined as the sample size. selection of individuals was also done by stratified sampling method. cronbach's alpha was reported as 0.87 for the questionnaire. the ordinal regression analysis showed that the three variables of interest in agricultural activities, entrepreneurial personality factor, and the number of participation in the training course positively affect the probability of changing the attitude of rural youth toward employment in the agricultural sector. it is necessary to adopt a situation where the attitude of young people to continue education and to receive the necessary training in the field of agricultural jobs is improved and to encourage development of skills.
