     today, natural gas transport in the form of lng (liquefied natural gas) is one of the important options for worldwide natural gas trading. the aim of this study is to consider lng as the most cost-effective way for natural gas trading in long distances. this is an important issue for countries such as iran which holds the second largest natural gas reserves in the world; this estimation allows them to adopt an effective marketing policy for the future. to this end, for different capacities, we have estimated lng price in starting point and destination, and assessed the share of shipping costs for each project. results indicate that with the price of 15 cent/m3 for base natural gas, the imported lng price is acceptable compared to international prices and lng is the most costeffective option of natural gas trading in long distances and large quantities.
