bearing capacity of footing has been one of the most interesting fields for researchers in geotechnical engineering. according to development of capability of three-dimensional modeling by different methods in recent years, it is possible for the researchers to model different footing shapes. considering the difference between the three-dimensional results by different methods, we can see the absence of more rigorous method that could predict more precisely the real behavior of soils. in this research, after completely explaining the three-dimensional zero extension line method, we would show the application of this method in calculation of bearing capacity of footings via several examples. the mohr-coulomb criterion is used for soil behavior modeling and we would show the non-associativity effect in three- dimensional bearing capacity calculations of footing.
