    time comparison between precast and conventional construction:a case study of iran mall parking

    nowadays, execution scheduling is a key factor in finishing projects, and any changes in project time would influence all its phases and stakeholders. many contractors not only avoid delays and high costs but also are seeking ways to reduce the time and costs of construction. although there are many ways to reduce project delivery time, currently there is great attention to the prefabrication construction as an alternative method to finish projects earlier.

    since prefabricated components are manufactured off-site and delivered precast elements assembled in the construction site at the same time, the concurrent construction activities lead to quicker project completion. the primary objective of this study is evaluating the amount of total time saving of executed prefabricated components in car parking of iran mall project in comparison with the anticipated execution time in the conventional method by using msp (microsoft project) software. in summary, with about 70% of prefabrication in structure, the parking was finished 586 days sooner.
