     the decomposition kinetics of 2, 2 azoisobutyronitrile (aibn) as an initiator for polymerization systems was studied using thermal analysis techniques. the kinetic and thermodynamic parameters of the reaction were determined using tg/dtg and dsc data. thermal analysis experiments were performed in both isothermal and dynamic modes. the model-free and model-fitting kinetic approaches have been applied to tg/dtg and dsc data for retrieval of kinetic parameters. the enthalpy of reaction, decomposition rate constant, kd; and arrhenius parameters were obtained through an efficient optimization program from these models. the model-free isoconversional method yields dependencies of the activation energy on conversion. a computer program, which enables regression analysis, estimation and optimization of kinetic and thermodynamic parameters from thermoanalysis data, is presented. this program use from the freeman-caroll, horowitz metzger, coats-redfern, liu et. al., doyle and isoconversional methods. also predictor corrector algorithm coupled with screen graphics were used to solve the differential equations representing kinetic models of thermoanalysis data.
